This conference offers a dynamic, interactive overview, in "quiz" format, of certain errors, omissions and misinterpretations in the application of various articles of Part 9 – Housing and Small Buildings – of the Quebec Construction Code. The Code is used by many stakeholders during a construction or renovation project. It exists in several versions, and which book applies depends on the building's use and size.

What's more, distinctions must be made between acceptable good practice and/or common practice, especially since, on the job site, the methods proposed by contractors also come into play. Several examples will be presented, and you will be able to interact with the speaker-trainer. After the workshop, you will be able to recognize certain types of errors or omissions and know how to avoid misinterpretations.

Mr. Patrick Gautreau, T.P., President and Technical Director at NIVOEX inc., will be a speaker at the upcoming annual meeting of the Ordre des technologues professionnels du Québec, to be held on Saturday, September 28, 2013, at the Hôtel Clarion in Quebec City.
